Salton Volpi Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Notes of mint, licorice and toast greet the nose along with base notes of dried bell pepper and some autumnal leafy notes accenting black cherry and black currant fruit. Big sour black cherry fruit on entry, elegant and a bit lean, good depth and freshness to the fruit, good height in the mouth, a little oak on the backend softness and sweetness, snappy finish, good length good clarity, a touch of old wood and used barrel tannins, a touch of chocolate and a hint of pruniness on the palate, 85pts
