Salton Chardonnay Volpi 2011

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

20% in oak for six months This shows a fine almond wood spiced edge to the low intensity nose. On the palate high acidity lends this fine focus, yielding a lightly mineral, clean, crisp cut fruit, very Chablis like feel, though the little yellow fruit a hint of banana here accenting the yellow fruits lends it a new world appeal. The acid does cut like a knife though. 86pts
