Robust and rustic with dried fruit (fig/prune) flavours accompanied by a creamy bitter-chocolate character, balanced by moderate acidity and smoky oak, with superb length. Cantine San Giuseppe are situated near Taranto in Puglia and more precisely in the northern area of the Salento peninsula. The Estate was founded in 1962 and is equipped with the very latest vinification equipment and produces delicious, vibrant and modern styled wines. Vintage: 2008 Grapes: 90% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera Soil: Calcareous Vinification: Maceration lasting 8 days with daily pumping over. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 25-28C. The wine is then left to rest in steel tanks for a minimum of 8 months followed by 3 months in bottle prior to release. Colour: Ruby red Taste: Full, round ,fragrant and long with an intense bouquet of ripe fruits. Serve: An ideal accompaniment to roast and grilled lamb, game and mature cheese.
