External Reviews for Saladini Pilastri Sangiovese Blend Rosso Piceno Superiore Vigna Montetinello
In der Nase wunderbar fruchtig, reife Kirschen, feine Fassaromen. Am Gaumen massig und kompakt, gute Konzentration, voll und dicht, lang anhaltender Abgang - ein absoluter Spaßwein.
The 2009 Rosso Piceno is one of the most delicious, rewarding wines in its price range. This generous, supple red flows with expressive dark fruit and a soft, approachable personality. A harmonious finish rounds things out in style. The Rosso Piceno is 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012.
One of the absolute best values in Italian wine in the store - take notice of this one. Beautiful and lush, with a nose of blackberry, tobacco smoke and earth, followed by a blend of spice and dark fruit, and gentle tannins on the (supremely) lengthy finish. Did I mention I love this wine?
The 2004 Rosso Piceno (30% Montepulciano and 70% Sangiovese) exhibits loads of strawberry and herbaceously-tinged black cherry fruit in its exuberant, robust personality. With wonderful depth, a silky texture, and pleasant herb, earth, and spice characteristics, it should be enjoyed over the next 1-2 years, preferably with grilled poultry and meats.
A blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese that delivers loads of plum and black cherry fruit along with soft tannins. An approachable wine that screams "house red!"
The 2006 Rosso Piceno (70% Sangiovese, 30% Montepulciano) is a fresh, perfumed wine with a pretty core of dark fruit and good overall balance. It is an approachable red to drink now and over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
The estate's 2007 Rosso Piceno is an unqualified success. This soft-textured red caresses the palate with waves of ripe fruit, tobacco and spices. It offers remarkable balance at this level and must surely be one of Italy's finest wines at this price point. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
