Classic Italian food wine, in the good sense of the phrase. Would pair well with food such as marinated meats, spiced roasted veggies, hearty breads, someone said chicken parmesian (agree!). Tested from a preservation machine. Wine has deep rich dark color and somewhat perfume-like nose of sweet flowers and nail polish. Lively acid around the tongue that fades in the finish (unlike some Italian food wines where acid kicks up at the end). Palate has somewhat intense neutral dark fruit (dark plum, black cherry, perhaps cassis) and finishes of fading fruit and a charred oak or roasted grain taste. Dry. Body medium, acid medium plus, tannin medium or higher. Price as tested USD16. 70% montepulciano, 30% sangiovese
