Food Pairings for Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno
M<y rating 83: Very fruity body still has carbonation in it ,bad!!. Fruity nose not interesting
very good especially at $11
This is my new favorite wine!! Soft, smooth, silky tannins. Great sipper. Jammy, chewy, nice mouth feel. Great nose as well as great mouth feel and flavors. Will buy more!
Can't ask for more from a full bodied organic red selling for under $10.
No nose to speak of (was served chilled at a tasting) but a very pleasant palate of predominantly grapefruit. Dry.
Nice, easy to drink
very easy to drink, nice balance. neva took organic wines seriously, but this may be the turning point.
External Reviews for Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno
This blended red from the little-known Piceno area of Central Italy offers ripe cherry fruit and prune followed by a dusty note of Graham cracker or rye bread.
A big, boisterous wine, the 2011 Rosso Piceno bursts from the glass with exotic red fruit, savory herbs, spices and earthiness. This hearty, flavorful Sangiovese/Montepulciano blend is best enjoyed over the next 2–3 years, while the wine retains its exuberance. The 2011 is a fabulous, drop-dead gorgeous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2013–2015.
This is a tasty Italian blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano, produced with organic grapes. The wine has body and bright ripe fruit flavors along with a touch of oak and spice. Enjoy this easy-drinking red with lasagna, pizza or antipasto. Food pairing: pasta, poultry, red meats Flavor type: fruit-forward Body type: medium Finish: rich

Bright red. Fresh strawberry and red cherry aromas are lifted by a mineral nuance. Juicy and fresh, with lively red berry and stony notes on the pure, vibrant palate. Finishes bright and long. This very well-made wine probably lacks the complexity for an outstanding score, but it’s such a delicious wine that I’ll be generous. Makes a great pizza and pasta wine, but it can also handle more complex fare.
Fresh and clean without a hint of oak in sight, this light, straw-colored white blend has layers of flavor ranging from white pear to citrus. This should find itself a rightful place in your refrigerator this summer!
The 2008 Falerio (Trebbiano, Passerina, Pecorino) offers up fragrant white peaches in a crisp, focused style. Anticipated maturity: 2009ndash;2011.

This Italian red is produced by the award-winning Saladini Pilastri winery in the Piceno area of Italy that has been recognized by the European Union as organic. This lively wine has clean mineral notes with a fruity core.
