Saintsbury Pinot Noir Carneros Vincent Vin Gris 2006
2006 Saintsbury "Vincent Van Gris" is bright, refreshing, invigorating wine. It's complex and flavorful, full of strawberry and raspberry flavors, sports a crisp acidity with a richness that testifies to the high caliber Carneros Pinot Noir used to produce Vin Gris. Vin Gris is the name used in Burgundy for a delicate, refreshing pink wine made from Pinot Noir. Ours is exactly this. We make a vin gris saigné, a wine made from juice "bled" from the Pinot Noir tanks before the fermentations begin.
First published in 1920, George Saintsbury’s “Notes on a Cellar-Book” has inspired many to experiment widely and to form opinions unaffected by the fashion of the day. Included in those ranks are Mr. Ward and Mr. Graves, who named their winery in honor of Professor Saintsbury.
