Saintsbury Pinot Noir Carneros 2008
Wine Tasting Notes The Garnet Pinot Noir is enjoyed for the right combination of freshness and extract, grace and length. Lush with bright, refreshing fruit and texture that mirror these flavors in a seamless, rewarding expression of young Pinot Noir. This affordable Pinot Noir is a perennial favorite during the holidays, and complements a wide variety of dishes.
First published in 1920, George Saintsbury’s “Notes on a Cellar-Book” has inspired many to experiment widely and to form opinions unaffected by the fashion of the day. Included in those ranks are Mr. Ward and Mr. Graves, who named their winery in honor of Professor Saintsbury.
Great value, nice and easy Pinot Noir which is nice on its own or with a light meat dish. Nicely balanced with a pleasant finish.
Terrific Pinot noir here from a great little vineyard in Carneros. This wine demonstrates nice complexity with a light finish. Highly recommend.

For years Saintsbury has been blending their lighter styled, more perfumed lots to create “Garnet” named for the precious stone. It is created to be a bright, red fruit filled easy drinking Pinot Noir. Drink now or hold 2-5 years. Aged for 8 months in French oak - 20% of which was new.
