- The 2002 Carneros Pinot Noir spent ten months in barrel; 40% of the barrels were new. The wine is concentrated and full, with classic Pinot Noir character: cherry and berry flavors dominate both nose and palate with some deeper tones contributed by our new vineyard. The balance and depth of flavor are excellent and while delicious already don't let its youthful attraction fool you - this wine will benefit from bottle aging.

- IWC 87 (6/2004): Bright red. Cherry, raspberry, gingerbread and caramel on the nose. Initially quite spicy-oaky, but showed sweet, supple flavors of raspberry tart and ginger snaps with aeration. A slightly chunky pinot noir, with good fruit and a bit of finishing toughness.

- 1995 marked the first year of full production from the new Dijon Pinot Noir selections in our estate vineyards and 1996 firmly established the Brown Ranch as integral to the future quality of Saintsbury wines. 74% of the blend is from these younger, close planted, vertically trellised vines, 16% comes from the other two Saintsbury estate vineyards, and the balance comes from older, modest yielding vines planted on two wire trellises.
