Wine & Spirits ReviewA sleek Napa Valley cabernet, this is bright and black at once, richly oaked with generous blue fruit and baked black cherry flavors hinting at what may come with time. It's dense enough now for a black-and-blue steak.Wine Tasting Notes84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Historically one of St. Supery's most awarded wines. Rich, ripe aromas fill the glass with sweet berry fruit and attractive tones of oak, chocolate and anise. Flavors of briar berry, toasted oak, and licorice. An elegant wine with a velvety finish.

84 Points - Straight out of the bottle, the body on this wine has a vibrant purple core trailing to a brickish red. On the nose, a captivating blend of crushed violets, red currants and raspberry concentrate. Additionally, notes of plum and prune presented as well with a touch of heat. In the mouth, this wine was soft and elegant on the palate. It was contemplative, with mild dried berry fruit showing on the front and moves gracefully across the mid palate. It finished dry and somewhat quick. For the Élu blend being primary Cabernet Sauvignon, the tannins were lighter and less textured than expected. read more...

Blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot,4% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec The fruit for this red blend was harvested during the cool hours of early morning to maximize fresh flavors.Crush occurred in St. Supery's cellar prior to fermentation and maceration on the skins, after which the wines weredrained and pressed to barrels for maturation. After a year in predominantly French oak, a preliminaryblend was created and that blended wine put back into barrel in order to begin the process of marrying theflavors of the component varietals. Another twelve months later, the read more...
