Saint Cosme Côte-Rôtie Rouge Château Saint Cosme-Gigondas 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

"...dense ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet berry-scented nose offering up aromas of licorice, lavender, crushed rocks, and blue and black fruits. This full-bodied, remarkably deep, concentrated wine is an outlier for the vintage. A stunning effort...91-93" WA 10/09 "Well-layered, with nice grip carrying sage, maduro tobacco, fig paste, mulled black currant and blackberry fruit, followed by a long, charred apple wood- and mineral-filled finish. Stays bright and tangy through the finish, but there’s impressive range and density for the vintage...94" WS 09/10

A brilliant effort regardless of vintage conditions, the 2008 Cotes du Rhone Le Poste (100% Clairette) reveals floral, chalky-like notes as well as a medium-bodied, crisp, zesty personality. Displaying plenty of intensity and elegance, it, too, shoul... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Grenache wine from Rhone in France. 2008 Saint Cosme, Chateau de Gigondas le Poste 750ml

Deep ruby. Pungent aromas of blackberry, licorice and violet. Lush and densely packed, with solid grip to its dark fruit, spice and floral pastille flavors. On the serious, brooding side but theres an attractive sweetness to its dark fruit. Finishes... Stephen Tanzers IWC. The 2008 Gigondas Le Claux reveals a similar character with a Pinot Noir sensibility, good acidity and notes of forest floor, red currants, black cherries and earth. Consume it over the next 4-6 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2008 Saint Cosme, Chateau de Gigondas Les Claux 750ml
