A lifted nose showing aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit and underlying herbal and passionfruit notes.
Palate:
A light-bodied, dry, crisp wine with classic Marlborough flavours of gooseberry, guava, nettles with a hint of honeysuckle and the fresh acidity of grapefruit. A slight mineral note leads to a long lingering finish.
Ageing Potential:
Perfect for drinking immediately, this Sauvignon Blanc will be at its best over the next 18 months.
Winemaking:
The read more...fruit for this wine was sourced from several vineyards within different sub-regions throughout the Marlborough region including the classic Rapaura area and newer regions like Blind River in the Awatere Valley. The fruit was carefully monitored throughout maturity and harvest took place in the cool of the evening once the fruit had reached optimum flavour development and ripeness. Transported to the winery and pressed off with minimal skin contact, the resulting juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness.
