Reviews

A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 6% Merlot, 3% Syrah, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. The 2006 vintage was a great growing season with mild conditions and no real stress for thevines. Significant rainfalls in early spring gave a good head start to vine growth while drierweather around bloom time led to optimum pollination and excellent fruit set. Summer months underwent classif Eastern Washington weather with quite hot temperatures and no rainfall. Moderate temperatures in early fall allowed for longer hang time resulting in deeper color intensity and fruit characteristics. read more...

The former Staton Hills Winery is hitting its stride under the ownership of the Chalone Wine Group of Napa, Calif. This superb effort is a deliciously rich, long-finishing red showing cherries, berries, vanilla and chocolate aromas and flavors

What can I say? I purchased 4 bottles of this in a mixed case based upon a recent tasting I attended, that was a mistake. This wine is made from overripe grapes and as a result it has a big nose full of fruit (the good part of the wine) and a cloying feel in the mouth that makes it difficult to consume after the first glass. I would not buy it again.

Nice ripe fruit, rich, nice balanced tannins and big black cherry/berry fruit. Great value.
