The Prüm family has roots in Mosel region of Germany that date back as far as 1156, making it one the country’s preeminent winemaking dynasties. The current estate, now a century old and located in Wehlen in the heart of the Mosel, has been under the direction of Raimund Prum since 1971. Under his leadership and the involvement of his daughter Saskia, the property has become one of the region’s most successful wineries, boasting an international reputation for the production of exquisite Rieslings in a range of styles that satisfy and please every palate. Production Area This estate-bottled, single-vineyard Riesling is produced from grapes grown in the prestigious Graacher Himmelreich vineyard which is a designated Erste Lage site by the VDP. This vineyard has 60- to 70-year old vines which are ungrafted and reach up to 50’ deep. The icewine comes from the highest part of the vineyard which is cooler and drier. Grape Varieties 100% Riesling Vinification Grapes for this Eiswein were harvested during deep frost, in the early morning hours of January 8th, 2003, and pressed while still frozen. The naturally high, concentrated levels of sugar and acidity were carefully preserved during the eight week fermentation process. The resulting wine was aged in stainless steel and bottled under natural cork. Color Gold Bouquet Gorgeous aromas of peach, pineapple and mango with citrus and lime overtones Taste Harmonious and beautifully structured, showing concentration and finesse, with flavors of stone fruit such as nectarine, orange blossom and honey Alcohol 7.5% Serving Suggestions A rare wine to enjoy for sheer pleasure. Also outstanding with a variety of desserts.
