Rutini Chardonnay Tupungato Felipe Rutini 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Half the crop of the 2009 Chardonnay was aged in French oak barrels for nine months. It has a fresh nose of citrus lemon, dried flowers and a touch of praline. The palate is ripe and rounded with crisp acidity, lightly honeyed fruit and a pleasant, pear and lime-tinged finish. This Chardonnay is elegant and refined.

Rutini is a winery in the Maipu Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. It was founded in the late 19th century by Italian winemaker Felipe Rutini, originally called La Rural, with the motto Labor et Perseverantia (“Labor and Perseverence.”) Eventually the winery expanded into Los Corralitos and Medrano. Upon his passing in 1915, his descendants continued the operation, producing fine Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Chenin Blanc. In 1925, Rutini was the first winery to plant in the as yet unchartered Topungato region, recognizing its excellent viticultural possibilities for its climate and elevation. In 1994, Rutini was acquired by Argentinian winemaking icons Nicolas Catena and Jose Benegas Lynch, who have elevated the winery to become one of the region’s top quality producers. Principal winemaker is Mariano Di Paola, who oversees production at the state of the art facilities.  Read less

Belo vinho de cor amarelo palha, frutado com abacaxi, pêssego e melão maduros. Toque mineral presente, assim como mel-manteiga . Boa acidez num vinho que me agradou muito.
