Rutherford Ranch Two Range Red Napa Valley 2014

External Review by WineExpress.com:

The makers of Rutherford Ranch have been growing premium wine grapes for the past fifty years. They've explored and cultivated some of California’s finest vineyards in outstanding appellations, particularly Napa Valley. The name of this red blend is a reference to Napa Valley's unique geography, ideally positioned between two mountain ranges to the east and to the west: the Vaca and the Mayacamas. Within the valley, grape character and flavor are unique expressions of the diverse soil types and microclimates. Lots are hand selected from the rich array of outstanding fruit that this world-renowned wine growing region is famous for. Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are all fermented separately aged in French oak and blended for a Napa red that shows aromatic spices coupled with black cherry aromas, alongside fresh raspberry and dark chocolate flavors. Ripe tannins lead to a rich mouthfeel and the flavors linger on a long finish.

Round Hill Vineyards & Cellars:
Rutherford Wine Company is family owned and managed with a portfolio of wines representing the rich diversity of California’s outstanding appellations. Uncompromising and ecologically far-sighted viticulture is an ethical imperative for us. Though more labor intensive than prevalent commercial winegrowing methods, our efforts are rewarded with fruit rich in flavor and character. And great fruit is a prerequisite for making great wine.
