Rustenberg Peter Barlow Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

*Trophy for the best Cabernet Sauvignon - Six Nations Wine Challenge, 2016* *International Wine and Spirit Competition - Gold Medal* *91pts - Tim Atkin, 2016* The name of this wine pays tribute to the man who recognized the potential of Rustenberg. Peter Barlow bought the farm in 1941, reuniting the property, restoring its buildings and investing in its potential to make world class wines. The oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard is the Peter Barlow block. Located on the famed slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, it is considered one of the best in the world - consistently producing powerful, long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon. With its proven track record and ageing potential, it is an essential addition to every cellar. This wine offers remarkable value; as a regular award winner, it is South Africa’s most consistent and finest Cabernet Sauvignon. After 24 months ageing in French oak, this wine is bursting with concentrated cassis, black cherries and some herbaceousness on the nose and palate. Full bodied, with notes of cedar and cigar box, this is a complex, well-structured wine. Decant and enjoy now, but this wine has fantastic cellaring potential for yet more complexity.
