This 100% Chardonnay was produced from our vineyards on the North-West slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, Somerset West, about 7KM from False Bay. It is 100% barrel-fermented in 50% new French Oak and 50% 2nd and 3rd fill oak barrels. 100% malolactic fermentation and aged for 10 months in barrels on gross lees with periodic battonage (lees stirring).Slightly candied apple notes dont quite mesh with the smoky clove elements from the oak in this disjointed, straightforward white.
