First day = Pop'n'Pour : Nice dark purple opaque color. On the nose; dark berries, smoke, 'Gonzo Grape Bubble-Yum', hints of subtle vanilla & woods. First taste; black fruit, that Bubble-Yum again, but that's about it; not too much. The mouth feel is mildly oily. Tannins are a bit tight, but I am going to attribute that to the PnP instead of decanting. The finish is only around 10-12 seconds...not really 'awe-inspiring' by any means, but decent. For a first time pop-n-pour, pretty good really. I think this one will be even better tomorrow after a 2 hour decant. read more...
