Rusack was established in 1995 by Geoff Rusack and Alison Wrigley Rusack with a commitment to creating world-class wines. In the years since then, this dedication to quality has meant some dramatic changes at the winery. The most visible change is in the vineyard. Following the 2001 harvest, many of the original vines were pulled out and replanted under the guidance of viticuluturist Hope Fidziura and winemaker John Falcone. Utilizing cutting edge technology and taking advantage of Ballard Canyon’s unique terroir, varieties to be grown were carefully chosen and limited to those clones best suited to the microclimate. Syrah, Sangiovese, and Sauvignon Blanc have been planted, along with smaller lots of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot to be blended into the renowned "Anacapa." Read less

wonderful for a warm summer's eve. fruity, acidic, and with a wonderful pineapple finish - it's just what the doctor ordered for the end of a long day in the sun.

vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley as well as our estate vineyard. The Jack McGinley Vineyard (formerly Westerly) is in the far eastern part of the Valley known as Happy Canyon, with the Valley View Vineyard a bit further west and closer to the Santa Ynez River. These grapes are complemented with fruit from our estate vineyard on Ballard Canyon. The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed and then cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the crispness and varietal characteristics. The wine was bottled in January 2007 and released in April. This beautifully dry white wine is perfumed with aromas of honey dew melon, pears and spun sugar. These aromas merge with flavors of Meyer lemon and pineapple on the palate and finish with a sensation that is both fruity and crisp. Vineyards: Jack McGinley (41%), Valley View (37%), Rusack (22%) Bottle analysis: Alcohol: 14.2%, pH: 3.19, RS: 0.1%, TA 0.66
