Rupert and Rothschild Chardonnay "Baroness Nadine" 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2014 Baroness Nadine, matured for 22 months in 225-liter vats, has a tight and linear bouquet with very subtle apple blossom and granite scents. The palate is clean and fresh, the acidity nicely judged and the oak well integrated. There is something conservative about this Chardonnay, but there is class and sophistication here and it will repay cellaring." - Wine Advocate

Rupert & Rothschild:
At the foot of the spectacular Simonsberg mountain in the Franschhock Valley lies the historic French Huguenot farm Fredericksburg, established in 1690 and now home to Rupert and Rothschild Vignerons. It was in this valley over 300 years ago that the early French Huguenots first discovered a terroir similar to that of certain winegrowing regions in France. Hence their decision to settle and cultivate vineyards here.
