Ruinart Brut Champagne . Champagne NV
In the champagne world where quantity precedes quality Ruinart stands for exclusiveness, elegance and savoir-faire. R de Ruinart is a fine introduction to this classic range of champagnes. A blend of 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir (of which 25% is reserve wine) it has a golden yellow colour with a beautiful brilliance, a very beady mousse with fine bubbles, a delicate fresh and fruity nose showing notes of white fruits (mainly pear) and a harmonious, lively and vivacious palate, full and well-balanced with aromas of ripe fruits (greengage).

Ruinart’s Blanc de Blancs is structured and intensely minerally, but with a rich, full, creamy palate. It is finely balanced — elegant yet fruity — with a bright, crisp aftertaste. Drink now.
Heady scents of Middle Eastern spices and Key lime brighten the creamy flavors of this wine. The acidity cuts it with the severity of yellow grapefruit while the richness lasts on depths of lobster broth. It’s an ornate Blanc de Blancs, a fragrant wine to pour with a plateau des fruits de mer.
Rich and ripe, this bubbly has a superfine mouse, buoying its candied citrus, ginger and herb notes. Balanced and bright, with a mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2009.
The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is a great introduction to the house style. this elegant, fragrant wine offers up an array of smoke, toastiness, minerals, ripe pears and flowers. The medium-bodied NV Blanc de Blancs offers tons of clarity and precision at this level, with the lingering Ruinart sweetness on the finish. Anticipated: 2008andndash;2011.
If chardonnay could be a red wine, it might have the red fruit flavors of this blanc de blancs. Perhaps it’s the floral aspects that turn its chamomile and yellow flower notes toward violets, or the deep earth tones adding color to the flavor. The fruit is persistent, sunny in the middle, then shaded by an almost tannic character to the lees that places the wine with food, particularly roast veal.
Smoky and focused, with an intensity to the racy acidity and tightly knit flavors of white peach, chamomile, crystallized honey, pickled ginger and pink peppercorn. Exhibits lovely texture and offers a long, mineral-tinged finish. Drink now through 2020.
