What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Deep forest floor straight out of the gate with real good intensity here with slight confiture notes and lots of rich, moist earth, tar, leather and a touch too much so2. Elegant and rich in the mouth with bright red fruits and finely managed tannins, particularly in light of the vintage. Really well balanced and combining nice forest floral, mineral and herb notes with the bright red fruits. Great tannins. Perhaps a bit short on the finish, but a gutsy glass of Nebbiolo that offers Real solid value for a, very natural feeling wine. Has some Barbaresco like character. 88pts
