Food Pairings for Ruffino Orvieto Classico
Clear pale color. Somewhat "sweet" bouquet. Initial sip is quite light--almost watery, then, farther in the palate, fruit -- table grapes -- emerges. Altough I definitely get a table grapes flavor, there is no sweetness. US$7.99 at Total Wines.
Totally an emotional response here. This wine reminds me so much of the floral and fruity blend that was on the tables when I lived so briefly in Umbria. Delicate, almost like a jasmine bouquet, surrounded by fresh cut grass and the zest of a blood orange. This vintage seems just as delightful as its predecessors.
External Reviews for Ruffino Orvieto Classico
Notes of dried apricots and peaches compete with flint and floral scents in this medium-bodied, elegant offering from Ruffino. Dry yet expressive, this is a nice aperitif white.
Pale straw in color, with a delicate, slightly nutty aroma. In the mouth, it is dry, crisp and fresh, with earthy flavors and a suggestion of pear, fading to a crisp and balanced finish.
Young and fresh, this frisky white from Ruffino tickles your nose with grassy, citrus fragrances, then dances on your tongue with that same citrus intensity. A clean, crisp finish leaves you invigorated and wanting more.
Tasting Notes - Straw yellow in color. Fresh and fragrant with flowery notes and clover accompanied by fruity hints of green apples. Fresh and harmonious with good body and an aftertaste reminiscent of citrus fruit.
A perennial favorite, with a nose of white flowers and apples; the finish is long, with citrus flavors and a trace of almond.
A fresh, fragrant wine reminiscent of wild flowers, with nice fruity hints of green apples. Hints of lemon/ lime flavors in the mouth with a good little dose of mouthwatering acidity.
