A fresh, young Chianti, with pleasant plum and mineral character, fine tannins and a clean, fruity finish. Drink now.
Smooth and structured, this Chianti delivers deep, tart black cherry flavors on a medium frame with a nice, chewy mouthfeel. Attractive licorice, earth, tobacco and cocoa accents add interest right through the dry finish. Tasty now and should hold through 2004. A solid value, especially if found on sale.

Tasting profile: intense and medium-bodied, Il Leo 2009 presents steady yet elegant tannins and perfectly matched with the fruity body of this Chianti Superiore. The aftertaste is very persistent and reminds notes of fresh cherry and blueberry.
