Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale 2004
Decent Chianti. Not amazing, but solid table wine.
Dark ruby red color with aromas of dried plums and hints of blueberry followed by leather, oak and a bit of gingersnap. The palate was lush with vibrant acidity showing cranberry and sweet cherry, a bit of cinnamon and milk chocolate. Finishes long with more cranberry and citrus rind. Wow. An unexpected and wonderful performance.
Beautiful intense ruby red in the glass with a typical Chianti nose. Plums, cherries, vanilla and spices fill the air around the glass, the wine is very aromatic. On the palate the wine is full bodied and offers a spectrum of different tastes, herbs, cherries and a little mocha too. Nice smooth coating tannins, good structure and balance. Top Chianti. 92 Points
Cherry, red berries, slight vegetal/herbal note, mild earth. Lighter body.
appearance: clear bright, medium intensity ruby red at core, breaking at rim, with some legs nose: clean, youthful, medium (-) intensity aromas of fruits of the forest, black cherries, some vanilla palate: dry with a medium (+) acidity, low tannin, medium (+) alcohol level, medium (-) body, medium (-) intensity flavours as nose. short lenght. feels sharp and thin on the palate, somewhat unbalanced. calls for food, will food compensate? conclusion: acceptable, barely. although of an acceptable quality, a disappointment. feels thin and sharp, not much complexity and a disapointing finish. drink now, if at all.
Medium body, soft. Notes of berries and cocoa.
Thisis what I think of when I think of Chianti. great fruit, old cigar box. lots of earth. I love it

Wine Tasting NotesRuby red in color. The aromas present a distinct mix of floral and fruity notes; ripe plums, cherries and blackberries along with white pepper, roasted coffee and chocolate create a smooth and refined finish. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is characterized by elegant, fruity notes and smooth, velvety tannins. An impressive finish with lingering notes of strawberry pie and raspberries.
A very classic Chianti Classico bouquet with notes of violets cherries plums and inviting spicy sensations. Full bodied with a generous fruity core where the notes of cherries and small berry fruits intertwine with sensations of Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme and hints of oak. The alcohol is well-integrated in the structure and the tannins are impressive yet round and soft. The aftertaste is very long and reminiscent of violets nutmeg plums and sweet tobacco.
