Astringent, acidic, and tart-- to distraction. Not what I would expect from the Ruffino folks.

This needed a long time to open up before it had any kind of character at all. I found the first glass very bland with no real finish. It eventually developed some ripe, acidic flavors, but never anything very distinct. It probably will get better with time. For now, I definitely say drink it with food because it doesn't stand up well on its own.
