Astringent, acidic, and tart-- to distraction. Not what I would expect from the Ruffino folks.
an unsurprising chainti; soft cherry and vanilla notes on the nose with a light-bodied, subtly fruity mouthfeel.
Floral bouquet, med body, cherries.
This needed a long time to open up before it had any kind of character at all. I found the first glass very bland with no real finish. It eventually developed some ripe, acidic flavors, but never anything very distinct. It probably will get better with time. For now, I definitely say drink it with food because it doesn't stand up well on its own.
red ruby color, medium to light bodied, with cherry & hazelnut notes.

Wine Tasting NotesRuby red. As always this Chianti features a deliciously vinous bouquet, where the floral and fruity notes lead towards a finish of slightly spicy scents of white pepper and hazelnuts. Medium-bodied, Chianti Ruffino is pleasantly fruity, harmonious and persistent. A young Sangiovese which can be perfectly matched with a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes.
