What to Expect

Few white wines have achieved the fame that Riesling has in Germany. Its ability to produce a wide range of styles, from bone dry to lusciously sweet, in an even wider range of climates has made it the grape of Germany. Riesling in Germany can range from the steely, piercing wines of the Saar to the round, opulent peachy wines one typically finds in the Nahe and the Pfaltz. Every region is capable of producing both dry and sweet versions though there is a movement towards drier wines that has taken hold throughout many regions.

Reviews

1st) Mouthwatering nose (literally). Green apple, petrol notes, hint of slate. Big piece of pineapple and canned fruit cocktail on the back end.

Too much fruit; leaning more towards Californian style than German (which I dislike).

Sweet wine (too much for me, might be OK with spicy food), but drinkable.

Disappointing finish.

2nd) Wine opening up quite a bit. Mouth-feel is now balanced, sugar is no longer distinct. It's not a crisp Riesling, but it has a lot of body. Finish is now lingering and quite pleasant.
