Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Clear straw bright, with green apple, pineapple, petrol aromas, oily fruit cocktail and wet rock minerality on the fruit sweet palate with good acid, and lingering finish. Drank like peach juice with a pickled onion, citrus and arugula salad.

1st) Mouthwatering nose (literally). Green apple, petrol notes, hint of slate. Big piece of pineapple and canned fruit cocktail on the back end. Too much fruit; leaning more towards Californian style than German (which I dislike). Sweet wine (too much for me, might be OK with spicy food), but drinkable. Disappointing finish. 2nd) Wine opening up quite a bit. Mouth-feel is now balanced, sugar is no longer distinct. It's not a crisp Riesling, but it has a lot of body. Finish is now lingering and quite pleasant. Ten minutes in the glass totally changed this wine. $12.95 3rd) Caramel notes now on the finish...this is a wild wine in the glass, seems to evolve ever few minutes.

This wine was given to me as a Christmas gift by my neighbor and it has been in my cellar ever since. I never had much interest in white wines till I tried this. I especially love this with blue cheese and Breton crackers. It is a sweeter wine with notes of peach and apricot.

Our most popular Riesling. From the Mosel region, this Spatlese is semi-sweet with flavors of apple and pear.

Wine Tasting NotesThe wine is light golden in color with beautiful aromas of dried fruit, apricots and dates. Its palate is rich and mouth-filling, with flavors of raisins and honeyed fruit. The wine has excellent acidity and a long finish. Ideal with blue cheeses, fruit based desserts, such as fruit tarts or as an after-dinner drink instead of dessert.

Winemaker's Notes:

Rudolf Muller Riesling Auslese is made from super-ripe, Riesling fruit grown in the Mosel Valley of Germany and is usually harvested in November when the leaves have already turned a deep red color from the autumn cold, as depicted on the front label. The resulting wine wine is rich and thick, with aromas and flavors of honey, almonds, apricots, peaches, lime and mango. It is a perfect match for every spicy cuisine, fruits, aged cheeses, and desserts with dairy, citrus, or nuts.

This is off-dry German riesling from the Mosel-Sarr Ruwer region has a citrus fruit flavors with good acidity.
