The name of this wine coincidentally corresponds with one of its tasting notes. “Rubus” means raspberry in Latin; it is the name given to the genus of flowering plants in the rose family. There is a significant scent of black raspberry on the nose along with currant and spice, mainly cinnamon. The black raspberry and currant are repeated on the palate, along with chocolate with a bit of oak and cherry. From the first velvety sip to the lingering finish, this wine remains smooth and very well balanced.
Yet another classic crowd pleaser made for importer and distributor Fran Kysela. Raspberry jam concentrate sprinkled with cocoa powder dust. Chocolate-covered cherries with cracked black pepper. The long finish alternates between milk chocolate and raspberry.
