An iron streak runs through the middle of this firmly structured Brunello, leading to the core flavors of black cherry, tobacco and wild herbs. This stays taut and racy through the finish, but needs time to soften its tannins. Best from 2013 through 2025.

Aromas of blackberries and blueberries follow through to a full body and velvety tannins. This is so layered and deep. Fabulous texture. The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino wraps across the palate with layers of sweet red cherries, flowers, licorice and spices. Soft and sensual, the 2007 impresses for its impeccable balance and long, suave finish. The 2007 kept improving over the time I followed it. This is a vintage built on silky elegance and expressive fleshiness in the fruit, but those elements need time to emerge fully. There is an inner resonance to the 2007 I find very appealing. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. - Robert Parker 94+ Points A wine that speaks of territory and tradition, it's clean, polished and pristine, with a nice balance between fruit and spice. Thick tannins need more time to age and soften - M.L. ** Only 24 in Stock **

The Brunello di Montalcino is a huge, dense wine that explodes from the glass with tar, smoke, earthiness black cherries and minerals. The wine possesses dazzling concentration and tons of richness, as waves of fruit coat the palate in stunning style. This big, dramatic Brunello needs time in bottle, but it is nothing short of magnificent today. The balance, and the integration of the French oak in particular, is brilliant. For those who are curious to try a bottle now, the wine should be opened a few hours in advance as the tannins are imposing at this stage. This is a rare Brunello of superb pedigree and complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029.

Aromas of blackberries and blueberries follow through to a full body and velvety tannins. This is so layered and deep. Fabulous texture. Better in 2014. We will see in the end whether 2006 or 2007 is better. Try in 2016. James Suckling. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2007 Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino 750ml

Like finely woven silk. Incredible texture to this subtle and complex red, with black licorice, mineral and blackberry. Full-bodied and thick, yet reserved and refined. Very classy. Giancarlo Pacento is a master winemaker. Best after 2004.

Opaque garnet with blackish tones. Inviting, multidimensional aromas of cinnamon, black pepper, glove leather and chestnut puree. Intense flavors of blackberry, mint and marzipan. A dense, concentrated wine, with substantial extract and full tannic thrust. At once juicy and plush, with lovely spice components emerging on the long finish.
