Round Hill Chardonnay California Oak Free 2008

Member Review by Chris Carpita:

A fun fruity wine that's a bit sweet and very drinkable, with lots of green apple tartness, although the acidity falls flat sooner than I would like. Hints of nutmeg and lychee.

Round Hill Vineyards & Cellars:
Rutherford Wine Company is family owned and managed with a portfolio of wines representing the rich diversity of California’s outstanding appellations. Uncompromising and ecologically far-sighted viticulture is an ethical imperative for us. Though more labor intensive than prevalent commercial winegrowing methods, our efforts are rewarded with fruit rich in flavor and character. And great fruit is a prerequisite for making great wine.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Soft nose of faint melons. Medium-bodied with well-integrated acidity and a light but long, slightly mineral finish.

Very crisp green apples, light mineral, a spritz of tropical pineapple with a sweet lingering finish. A little too light for my taste, but enjoyable alone.
