Roth Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2009

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Jesse Katz focuses on Russian River Valley vineyards with gravelly, well-drained soils for this wine. It has a spicy, conifer forest edge to contrast ripe, high-toned raspberry flavors. The finish is juicy, pungent and clean, with the fruit sweetness to match roast duck.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Some Sonoma Coast Pinots are dark, heavy and dense, and this is one of them. It’s so rich and full-bodied in black cherry, raspberry and currant fruit, it’s almost like a Rhône wine. Defines a certain style, and delicious at that, but not likely to age, so drink now.
