Roth Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Mild winter conditions and a dry spring led to early bud break. Summer was mild with a hot August that encouraged ripening and as summer came to a close, it appeared to be earlier harvest. The weather cooled and things slowed to a snails pace, pushing us into our usual late October conclusion. Yields for all Bordeaux varietals were extremely low, yet the resultant wine has amazing concentration and balance.

Roth Cabernet Sauvignon is an expression of its Alexander Valley origins. The 2007 vintage has the deep fruit and firm tannins characteristic of this AVA's southern expanses - blackberry, red cherry, plum and cassis, accented by hints of white pepper, cedar and nutmeg that carry over the long finish. Aged 18 months in seasoned French and American oak barrels, the wine gently fined to preserve varietal character. While stylistically fruit forward and ready to drink upon release, the 2007 Cabernet will benefit 3-5 years aging.
