Rosso di Montalcino Poggio di Sotto Fattoria Poggio di Sotto 2005

Member Review by Laurapal:

Dark and silky, seductive and complex. Leather, liquorice, succulent fruit. Smooth and long finish. Amazing quality but only to be expected from an estate that gives as much time in wood to their Rosso as the DOCG requires for Brunello (2 years). Viva Piero Palmucci!

The 2005 Rosso di Montalcino offers up perfumed red fruits, licorice and spices, all of which are framed by silky, elegant tannins. This is a very serious Rosso you could literally get lost in, and is a remarkable achievement considering the challeng... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2005 Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 750ml
