Rossignol Trapet Gevrey Chambertin A. C. Vieilles Vignes 2013

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

A solidly complex nose of very earthy dark berry fruit smoke and a hint of the sauvage marries into rich round and supple medium-bodied flavors that terminate in an equally complex intense and linear finish where a hint of austerity is also present. Burghound.

Pale ruby core that pushes to the rim. This is quite attractive showing ripe yet restrained aromas of raspberry black cherry and cola with underlying notes of baking spice and underbrush. It hits on entry with a almost rich creaminess with flavors of macerated raspberry spice and loamy earth. Framed nicely by sweet rounded tannins the fruit is pinned together nicely and kept in focus by mouthwatering acidity. This is lovely right out the gate but has excellent cellaring potential for the next 10+ years. This shows the excellence of the 2010 vintage with its beautifully delineated aromatics and juicy ripe fruit all supported by that superb acidity. Geoffrey Binder.
