Rossignol Trapet Domaine Beaune Teurons Pinot Noir Wine 2010

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

A refined combination of red and blue pinot fruit laced with pretty spice and earth notes leads to silky and quite pure middle weight flavors where the minerality is quite strong. There is a coolness to the reserved yet persistent finish with that lovely sense of underlying tension. Burghound.

Lovely medium garnet core with a light ruby rim. Delicate aromas of bittersweet chocolate bright cherry raspberry and anise. Freshly picked forest berries on the palate with a touch of menthol and cola. Refined and tensile with bright acidity and tannins which build towards the long precise finish. Beautiful now but give this wine 5-10 years to really sing. Alex Lallos.

The Rossignol vines in Teurons are beautifully situated at the top of the slope in this vineyard and right along the border with Les Cras which is the chalkiest section of this fine premier cru. The 2010 is exceptional offering up a complex bouquet of red plums cherries dusty rose a complex base of soil coffee and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep fullish and very pure on the attack with very good mid-palate depth lovely intensity of flavor and impressive complexity and grip on the moderately tannic and very tangy finish. This has the silky seamlessness on the backend that is the calling card of the top domaines in the 2010 vintage. 2016-2040+. John Gilman.

This is noticeably riper with an expressive nose of blue berry fruit cut with notes of violets and warm earth that carries over to the very round and smooth flavors that possess good volume as well as a punch and mouth coating finish where an attractive trace of minerality surfaces. Burghound.

The 2009 Beaune Teurons reveals excellent up-front juiciness in its dark red fruit. This is an enveloping open Burgundy that will give plenty of pleasure early on. High-toned aromatics add complexity on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. -AG Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
