Rosenthal Malibu Cabernet 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes: Exhibits deep purple-red color, with aromas of sandalwood and toasty oak. Polished flavors of cassis, mocha, and minty-sage, with hints of black raspberry, dark cherry, and exotic spices on the long, rich finish. Vintage Notes: The 2001 harvest gave us an outstanding crop, with a warm spring and a moderate summer allowing concentration of fruit flavors, and adding to the deep color, complexity, and balance — quality markers for an exceptional vintage and an exceptional wine, with multiple Gold Medal awards to its credit. Technical Notes: Appellation: Malibu - Newton Canyon Production: 1900 Cases Varietal Components: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc Alcohol: 14.1% Aging: Seguin Moreau château barrels — Allier and Tronçais, medium toast, 20 months Return to Rosenthal – The Malibu Estate wine list

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
