What to Expect

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

Reviews

Exquisite as an aperitif wine by itself. Far too overpoweringly sweet, alcoholic, cloying, and luscious to have along side just about ANY food item. You have been warned :-)

This is a beautiful dark ruby red port. It is thick and decadent and has been flavored with artificial chocolate. No matter, it's still tasty as hell, however it is so rich and alcoholic (18% in fact) that it cannot be eaten with anything that has an evident salt flavor. It's has been amazing with butter cookies, cheesecake, rosemary crackers and honey, La Tur cheese, and surprisingly a foie gras mousse that contained raisins and port - it wasn't very salty so I guess that explains the workable combo.
