This is an incredible zin. Very sweet up front, but turns spicy and complex immediately. Finish seems to go on forever. Very deserving of the $20-30 price tag.

Dug this one out of the cellar. Nose still has lots of fruit, although with a bit of a jammy medicinal note and some raisining. On the palate, there's a surprising amount of structure - lively acidity, some tannins, and only a medium body. The fruit is definitely holding on here, although it's starting to get some hints of secondary flavors. The finish has a burnt tobacco thing going on. The alcohol is definitely a little harsh, but I suppose that comes with the territory. All in all, definitely an impressive showing for a zin that's almost a decade old!Update: still great on the second night!
