Food Pairings for Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel California
Outstanding, one of Rosenblum's best Zinfandels and that is saying a lot.
raisin - dark plum light spice - very nice
Very rich mouthfeel. Thick fruity, syrupy feel. Integrated tannins. Give it a year for tannins to soften.
Youthful tannins. Some good fruit with nice spicyness. Needs time.
Super herbaceous nose and not in a good way. Green vegetables. Tons of baking spice, on a very earthy palate. Brambly, briary fruit. Sage. Stone. - Blind tasted at Schreiner's Winers zin tasting 9/18/10
Another excellent Zinefindel from Rosenblum. Blackberries with vanilla undertones make this an extremely smooth wine that is equally good with food or alone.
Fragant rasberry nose with a hint of floral notes. Good round Zinfandel.

Wine Advocate ReviewThe dense, full-bodied, powerful, rich 2005 Zinfandel Lyons Reserve is atypically concentrated for such a difficult vintage. Boasting superb purity, impressive richness, and a full-bodied style with plenty of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, and herbal undertones, this pure Zinfandel cuts a broad swath across the palate, and finishes authoritatively. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.Wine Tasting NotesThis robust, stunning wine offers minerality and black cherry, with notes of cracked white pepper and sandalwood flying out of the glass. A wine of power, but with a soft inner core that keeps you coming back for more. A great food wine, try pairing this Zinfandel with Gorgonzola pasta, braised lamb shank or prime rib.
Wine Tasting NotesIncredibly intense and aromatic, this wine shows stunning bright blackberry fruit with evident cherry, chocolate and spice. Although it has the heart of a Zinfandel, it is also very reminiscent of a Northern Rhone with beautiful minerality. This wine's abundant minerality makes it extremely food-friendly. Try pairing it with a host of dishes from spicy stir-fries to rich pastas, fresh game or grilled meats.
Aromas of wild raspberry, blackberry and a touch vanilla come all wrapped up with subtle hints of cocoa and mint. The flavors are even more extracted and compelling than the aromas. A cornucopia of rich raspberry, blackberry and cherry with hints of clove and mint explode on the palate. The finish on this wine is so intense that it will make you wonder if life can get any better.
Dark ruby red core with a slightly lighter red/purple rim. Cinnamon, plum, and ripe strawberry on the nose followed by some clove and eucalyptus. Nice entry on the palate with dried plum, currants, and subtle minty earth tones. Nice fruit throughout ... Alex Lallos. A Zinfandel wine from California in USA. 2005 Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel St Peter's Church Vineyard 750ml
Wine Tasting NotesThis wine reflects the relative divinity of the vineyard. This Zinfandel was heaven sent. Ripe cassis and blackberry fruit pervade the bouquet followed by whiffs of ripe, dark cherries and currants with elements of chocolate, licorice and menthol. The finished wine shows flavors of blackberry and currant, with hints of cigar box, coffee, mocha and hazelnut; with a defined acid and soft tannin backbone.
Aromas of wild raspberry, blackberry and a touch of vanilla, this special Reserve wine is filled with flavors of rich, ripe berry and cherry, with hints of clove and eucalyptus that explode on the palate.
California Grapevine ReviewZinfandelMedium to medium-dark ruby; attractive, forward, spicy, cedary, jammy, raspberry and blackberry fruit aroma with a hint of mocha; full body; big, forward, rich, textured, toasty, red berry fruit flavors with good depth and concentration; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Oak is balanced with the fruit.Wine Tasting NotesAromas of wild raspberry, blackberry and a touch vanilla come all wrapped up with subtle hints of cocoa and mint. The flavors are even more extracted and compelling than the aromas. A cornucopia of rich raspberry, blackberry and cherry with hints of clove and mint explode on the palate.
