User Reviews for Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel California
Add your reviewVery rich mouthfeel. Thick fruity, syrupy feel. Integrated tannins. Give it a year for tannins to soften.
Super herbaceous nose and not in a good way. Green vegetables. Tons of baking spice, on a very earthy palate. Brambly, briary fruit. Sage. Stone. - Blind tasted at Schreiner's Winers zin tasting 9/18/10
Another excellent Zinefindel from Rosenblum. Blackberries with vanilla undertones make this an extremely smooth wine that is equally good with food or alone.

Wine Advocate ReviewAn outstanding effort is the broodingly backward, dense ruby/purple-colored 2005 Zinfandel Harris-Kratka Vineyard. A tannic blend of 75% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, and 10% Carignan, it exhibits notes of seaweed, garrigue, pepper, kirsch, darker fruits, spice box, and earth. Abundant acidity and tannin suggest another year of bottle age will be beneficial. It should keep for 5-7 years.Wine Tasting NotesThis wine shows intense black cherry and ripe plum fruit typical of the Alexander Valley. It is smooth, silky and exotic on the palate with hints of violets, rose petal, vanilla and currants. Drink this sumptuous wine alongside filet mignon, rack of lamb or even a well-aged duck breast with wild berry compote.
Wine Tasting NotesThis wine reflects the relative divinity of the vineyard. This Zinfandel was heaven sent. Ripe cassis and blackberry fruit pervade the bouquet followed by whiffs of ripe, dark cherries and currants with elements of chocolate, licorice and menthol. The finished wine shows flavors of blackberry and currant, with hints of cigar box, coffee, mocha and hazelnut; with a defined acid and soft tannin backbone.
Dark ruby red core with a slightly lighter red/purple rim. Cinnamon, plum, and ripe strawberry on the nose followed by some clove and eucalyptus. Nice entry on the palate with dried plum, currants, and subtle minty earth tones. Nice fruit throughout ... Alex Lallos. Wine Advocate ReviewThe dense, full-bodied, powerful, rich 2005 Zinfandel Lyons Reserve is atypically concentrated for such a difficult vintage. Boasting superb purity, impressive richness, and a full-bodied style with plenty of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, and herbal undertones, this pure Zinfandel cuts a broad swath across the palate, and finishes authoritatively. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.Wine Tasting NotesThis robust, stunning wine offers minerality and black cherry, with notes of cracked white pepper and sandalwood flying out of the glass. A wine of power, but with a soft inner core that keeps you coming back for more. A great food wine, try pairing this Zinfandel with Gorgonzola pasta, braised lamb shank or prime rib.
Wine Advocate ReviewThe outstanding 2005 Zinfandel Annettes Reserve (80% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, and 5% Carignan) exhibits a deep ruby/purple color in addition to notes of licorice, black cherries, currants, earth, and spice box. Richly fruity and medium to full-bodied with good acidity and light to moderate tannin, it should drink nicely over the next 5-7 years.Wine Tasting NotesThis rich exotic example of Mendocino Zinfandel is the product of superb old vine vineyards that are dry farmed and head pruned. The additions of Petite Sirah, Carignane and Syrah have added layers of texture to both the aromatics and palate.
Ripe and jammy, with blackberry and blueberry aromas and potent licorice, dried cherry and cracked pepper flavors. Finishes on a dry, rustic note. Drink now through 2012.
Aromas of wild raspberry, blackberry and a touch vanilla come all wrapped up with subtle hints of cocoa and mint. The flavors are even more extracted and compelling than the aromas. A cornucopia of rich raspberry, blackberry and cherry with hints of clove and mint explode on the palate. The finish on this wine is so intense that it will make you wonder if life can get any better.
