Rosemount Estate Shiraz Fleurieu Show Reserve 2006

Member Review by ECD1955:

I had my first bottle March 2008 and have had 2 since, most recently October 2009. I really like this wine. It has throw a lot of sediment and needs decanting but this is now a beautiful mature Shiraz showing an orang/brown rim over a still deeply colored wine. Wonderful mature nose with berries, cedar, leather and smooth, full bodied flavor. Fantastic with a good steak.

Rosemount Estates:
Rosemount Estate's vision began in the Hunter Valley region of Australia. Though much has changed at the estate over the years, the original commitment to quality has remained pivotal to the success of the now world-famous winery that is Rosemount Estate.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A hedonistic, completely irresistible South Australian shiraz: flavourful and very full-bodied, for sure, but all the elements are in balance; harmonious, seamless, with a long finish. If you don't like this, then high-quality New World shiraz is simply simply not for you.

Firm in texture, with fine tannins around modest cherry and dusty-earth flavors, echoing nicely on the crisp finish. Best after 2004.

Medium-bodied, borderline big, really; nice, dusty tannins swathe a core of ripe red plums and raspberries. Opens and closes with oakrsquo;s signature spice and black-peppery notes.
