Food Pairings for Rosemount Estate Shiraz Diamond

What is this, some kind of a joke? HOW much, for this jammy plastic explosive? SEVEN dollars? This big, dark, chewy, fruit and tannin-filled shiraz costs ... what? OK, if you’re reading this, you probably know what cheap red wine tastes like. Think about the last time you trusted a good-looking flight attendant who offered you a merlot . . . http://wineguider.wordpress.com/2010/11/18/rosemount-shiraz-review/
Not my cup. Alcohol is overpowering alongside the bitterness, overriding the vanilla, tannin fruit, and lavender, almost perfume-y. Be sure to sip, and not gulp, not a party wine.

A refreshing style, playing its ripe blackberry and licorice flavors on a medium frame. The finish lingers. Drink now.
Ripe and juicy. A supple mouthful of berry and cherry fruit shaded with pretty vanilla and spice notes. Everything lasts impressively on the round finish. Drink now through 2003.
The nose is richly aromatic, with fine coconutty oak over warm spicy licorice and brambly berry fruit. Flavors are dominated by well-defined ripe fruit that is soft, with generous, rounded tannins that hold to a long rich finish, echoing toasty notes of American oak.
Round and accessible, this is another easy-drinking wine from Rosemount. Blackberry, plum and dried spice flavors are varietally correct and displayed on a couch of soft tannins.
Weingut: Rosemount EstateLand: AustralienRegion: Hunter ValleyRebsorte: 100% ShirazInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 13,5 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 5,75 g/lRestsüße: trockenEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18 °CLagerfähigkeit: 5-7 Jahre ab Jahrgang Rotwein > Australien > Hunter Valley
A noteworthy value, the dark ruby-colored 2002 Shiraz exhibits blackberry, earthy and floral notes. Medium-bodied, with admirable stuffing, and no hard edges, it will drink well for 2-3 years.

Deep plum red with purple hues. The nose shows aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, chocolate, black pepper and spice against a backbone of very subtle, well integrated oak. A full bodied, juicy sweet palate with cherry, chocolate, cherry pip and plum flavors. The finish is supported by well balanced, long, silky smooth tannins. It is this fantasticbalance that allows for great drinkability.
