The Diamond Label Series is the heart of Rosemount. Stylish and sophisticated, these wines display the fruit forward, easy-drinking sensibilities which make them delicious from the first sip to the final delectable drop. This wine is sourced from premium wine regions across south east Australia. 2006 showed a good start to the vintage across all regions with the potential to be a good cropping year. Budburst and flowering were good in most districts and rain in Spring promoted luscious growth. Mid January experienced a dramatic climate change with a long period of intense heat which brought the vintage on a lot sooner than normal. An impressive, complex nose with aromas of violets, plum and blackberry melding with hints of oak. A palate full of generous, dark fruit flavors complimented by touches of spice and oak. Fine tannins support the long finish.

A first-rate Merlot, this big-boned wine has juicy, rich flavors that explode out of the glass and last right through the rich, long finish. Itrsquo;s generous, but well made, with nice oak shadings. This is the kind of wine to bring along to the beach. Everyone will like it.
