Rosemount Estate Chardonnay Blend Diamond 2006
Since 1974, Rosemount has been one of Australia's leading wineries, producing wines that reflect the riches of the Australian climate and a dedication to quality, innovation and . Rosemount's unique diamond shaped label serves as a beacon for consumers around the world, with international accolades bearing testament to the tradition of winemaking excellence. In 2006, a new chapter has opened on the Rosemount story, with a reinforced commitment to the hallmark Rosemount wine and groundbreaking new packaging which sees Rosemount again setting the standard for innovation and quality on a global scale. The Diamond Label Series is the heart of Rosemount. Stylish and sophisticated, these wines display the fruit forward, easy-drinking sensibilities which make them delicious from the first sip to the final delectable drop. This wine is sourced from premium wine regions across south east Australia. 2006 showed a good start to the vintage across all regions with the potential to be a good cropping year. Budburst and flowering were good in most districts and rain in Spring promoted luscious growth. Mid January experienced a dramatic climate change with a long period of intense heat which brought the vintage on a lot sooner than normal. The palate shows the integration of six months oak maturation. The resulting wine nose shows distinctive, strong Chardonnay aromas of cantaloupe melon, kaffir lime and honey. True to the Diamond Label Chardonnay , this wine shows generous flavors with upfront, chewy, fleshy fruit notes of peach and melon. There is great texture across the palate which leads to a persistent finish with lovely long flavors.
Rosemount Estate's vision began in the Hunter Valley region of Australia. Though much has changed at the estate over the years, the original commitment to quality has remained pivotal to the success of the now world-famous winery that is Rosemount Estate.
Peach, spice and some tropical fruit. Not bad, with a pleasant floral finish. Fairly plain, but its solid for the price.
clean finish NEED TO DRINK AGAIN.
The 2006 has already turned to vinegar. I had to pour out two bottles.
