Rosemount Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep ruby with crimson hues. A distinctive Cabernet nose showing lovely, expressive fruit aromas of cassis and red cherry with hints of briar character. A wine with a soft, fruit driven palate with bright expressive fruit and great texture. Great mid- palate fruit flavours lead to a generous finish, supported by lovely, fine tannins.

Wild, herbal flavors run through the exuberant berry notes in this smooth-textured red. Give it until 1996 to settle down.

The wine shows well defined varietal characters of blackcurrant and sweet red capsicum on the nose, with subtle smoky hints of well integrated oak. The palate shows rich, ripe berry flavours with well defined, nicely rounded tannins and a long elegant finish.

Shows a deep crimson body with a lively pink edge. There are excellent varietal characters on the nose combining with fresh berry aromas and subtle, smoky hints of well integrates oak. The palate shows rich, blackcurrant fruit flavors with well defined tannins and a lingering aftertaste of wood smoke and ripe summer fruits.

hellip;exhibits more color, structure and tannin. It offers herb-tinged, cassis fruit, medium body, and lovely flavor extraction in the moderately long finish. It should drink well for 5ndash;6 years.

Availability shouldnrsquo;t be a problem with this crisp Cabernet, appealing for its fresh berry and currant flavors, picking up some nice hints of brown sugar and spice on the finish. Rosemount does it again, at an affordable price. Best from 1999 or 2000.

Plump, soft and friendly, this is a prime example of the easy-drinking wines that Rosemount is turning out. Therersquo;s plenty of cassis fruit, along with hints of chocolate, plum and a hint of mint.

Medium-bodied and easy to drink, therersquo;s sweet plum fruit and oak front and center, with a bran or oak note on the follow-through. Nicely built.
