Quite exotically flavored with notes of green olive, orange zest and red fruit on a beautifully balanced palate. Made of 100% Aglianico free-run juice.
Ros'Aura 2009 - 89 Points, Wine Review Online/ This might be the perfect rosé, or at least for my taste. It’s truly dry, and fairly full-bodied for a rosé, with crisp acidity (enhanced by a bit of CO2 prickle on your tongue) and flavors of strawberries and red cherries with a mineral note. It’s entirely from southern Italy’s noble Aglianico grape variety, which makes powerful, ageworthy reds such as Taurasi and -- case in point -- delightful rosés. This wine has enough character to complement spicy dishes such as pasta with an arrabiata sauce and yet is no way too heavy for a warm summer day. It’s what I want to drink.

Situated in the tiny village of Sorbo Serpico in Campania's Irpinia region, this highly-acclaimed winery was established in 1986. Production Area The communes of Taurasi, Pietradefusi, Castelvetere and Paternopoli in Campania. 10 – 20-year-old vines are grown between at 1,000 - 1,650 ft above sea level. Grapes are grown with 5,000 vines per hectare in deep soil with moderately large grains originally from ash and fallen pumice. Grape Varieties 100% Aglianico Vinification Grape bunches are picked by hand and sorted in mid to late October. After de-stemming, free-run juice undergoes a 12-hour maceration on the skins followed by a temperature controlled fermentation stainless steel tanks.
