In 1979, John and Harry Mariani, owners of the U.S. importer, Banfi Vintners, acquired a mid-18th century winery, known as Bruzzone, revitalized it and renamed the facility Vigne Regali. Here, with the same detailed care as a century ago, our skilled winemakers produce L'Ardì Dolcetto d'Acqui D.O.C., a ruby-red still wine, and two exceptional sparkling wines: Banfi Brut Metodo Tradizionale Classico, and "Rosa Regale" Brachetto d'Acqui D.O.C.G., from the La Rosa single vineyard. The rare Brachetto, a semi-dry, red sparkling wine cherished by the Courts of Europe two centuries ago, owes its reincarnation to Banfi. Just a few kilometers from Strevi lies the Principessa Gavia estate established by the Mariani family around the same time as Vigne Regali. This single vineyard is dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of the Cortese di Gavi grape, the sole white grape used to make the prized still wine Principessa Gavia Gavi and the lightly frizzante Principessa Perlante. A very tasty sweet wine, perfect for complementing desserts or alone after a meal. If you don't like the dessert-type wine, this will not be for you. My family often enjoys this one at special celebrations. It's perfect for a toast!

A berry cornucopia with bursting raspberry, strawberry and blueberry - just like a good Brachetto d'Acqui should be. Also typical of this style of sweet, sparkling wine with low alcohol is its soda pop fizz in the mouth and spicy finish.

Distinct notes of cranberry and raspberry on the nose and palate are accented by wisps of toast and rolled oats. The acidity is elegantly wrapped in juicy fruit. As in previous vintages, this is a clean, classic and delicious treat.

Displays a pleasing array of earth, spring flowers and red berries on the nose, but seems simple and sweet in the mouth.

Heavy on the rose petal and raspberry compote aromas, and also heavy on the palate. Yes, there's definitely a touch of cherry cough syrup to this red sparkler. To enjoy this you have to like your sweet; maybe best with a custard dessert or vanilla ice cream. It's too sweet and candied for chocolate.
