big nose of dr. brown's black cherry soda. strawberry and sour cherry on the palate. lots of fruit. you can tell that this sangiovese was not made in Italy. almost no oak, which is refreshing. the lively acidity makes it a no-brainer to pair with red sauce pasta.
This Sangiovese is made from Emilia Romagna clones rather than the usual Tuscan types, producing a bright and focused wine with good acid, light tannin and exceptionally aromatically clean fruit in a nimble, medium-weight package.
Light bodied and light red with hints of gold, this wine presents cherry cola and spices on the nose. On the palate is a blend of black cherry, strawberry, bay leaf and focused acidity. This wine spent 11 months in barrel, providing just a small hint of oak. Delicious.
